Meet Educator, Healthy Life Coach and Mum – Rachel Devereux

Rachel Devereux

This week’s interview is with effervescent educator Rachel Devereux.

She’s a fellow hard working Yorkshire woman, who is dedicating her career to helping others. Find out how you can work with her, oh, and you’ll love her secret kitchen habit!

Hi Rachel, great to chat! I’m really excited to hear about how you stay motivated and balanced, whilst building your business.

Please give my readers a quick introduction to you. Who are you, where you live and what you do

Hi I’m Nurse Rachel – The Healthy Life Coach.

Rachel Devereux

I live in Huddersfield, England and I work from home around my 2 kids (4&2). I had never felt entirely satisfied with my role in sick care, once I completed my Masters in Long Term Conditions I realised coaching was going to make better use of my skills and passion and fit around family life.

Something you love about your home town, and why people should come visit

Huddersfield is lively and vibrant, yet rural. In a matter of minutes I am in the middle of nowhere – great for connecting with nature and grounding yourself.

What do you wish you knew when you were a teenager

That it’s all going to work out – don’t chase it. Just accept yourself.

Tell us about something or someone in your life, that motivates you each day

My kids are my greatest teachers. They show me what it is to be human.

Tell us about one of your online mentors, how they inspire you and how can people find them

I have a few mentors, and the one that’s speaking to me now to bring forwards is actually a spiritual mentor. I find her honesty, humbleness and imperfections radiantly beautiful. She is an inspiration, her backstory alive with truth – her sparkle and determination contagious. If you are lost or not sure which way to turn you will be presented with opportunities, find peace of mind and you will know if it is the right thing for you. Good people build each other up.

An ambition you haven’t achieved yet

No More Excuses

How do you like to stay fit and healthy, mentally and physically

I am a baby-wearing educator, just having 2 active Tazmanian devil kids is enough, but add in their combined weight at 50% of mine, when the both need cuddles it’s a daily work out. I walk with them, dance in the kitchen, jump on the bed. We Laugh, a lot.

We eat a predominantly healthy diet, with a few curve balls thrown in for good measure. Personally, I follow a Vegan diet, but my hubby’s not ready to feel why yet so the kids eat vegan if I cook. We were already dairy, egg and soya free as our bodies alert us that they are not healthy for us.

There's More to you than your problem

Mentally I’ve struggled for many years, my most recent crisis was attempting to return to work after maternity leave. After many options trying medications, traditional self help, various counselling styles I stumbled across The Three Principles – I was looking for NLP yet it wasn’t feeling right.

The Three Principles spoke directly to me, showed me that I wasn’t broken, nurtured me into slowing down and accepting happiness as my base state. Now I just find even huge events that would have normally stressed me just pass over like clouds overhead

How can other creatives support you and your work?

I am looking for clients who want to create healthy and happy futures. People who are living in too fast thinking and too much noise and just need to slow it all down so they can get on with a happy and healthy life.

I don’t find the admin side easy, so I will be looking for help with automation and client maintenance.

Massive thank you for your time, have we missed anything you’d like to mention
