Why I’m Now Working On Substack…

… and Why You Should Join Me

I’ve moved my newsletter over to Substack. Somewhere I can chat, share my content and bring you useful resources.

Think of my website as my ‘home base,’ Substack as the place to check catch up ‘live.’

Substack will be the place I co-ordinate my writing, coaching, community, video and potentially reintroduce my podcast.

It also gives me another potential income stream and you know you can never have too many of those.

This is my job. I don’t have a 9-5 anymore, for which I’m truly grateful. That said, I need to earn money, no shame in that.

Something many influencers don’t mention is that those who turn a ‘side-hustle’ into their day job often end up working twice as many hours. Doing what you love is so much more fulfilling but is still work. It’s just using your gift, what lights you up. In my mind, that’s got to be a better way to live your life.

Money mindset is one theme I often talk about. After all, I’m a writer. I need to buy my coffee and keep the Wi-Fi on.

Substack allows me another way to work with you, whilst allowing me a space to do what I love.

To motivate, educate, break down walls of confusion, snobbery or prejudice around the art of writing and living a creative (mid)life.

Fiction

I’ve recently shared a manuscript, chapter by chapter, before publication, which was scary as heck but fun. You know I’m a firm believer in pushing your boundaries, and that took some serious mindset shifts.

But I did it and now the book is out there in the wild.

Podcast

Community / Chat room

  • This is on the list. It may come down to whether there is demand for a place where we can discuss all the above. I’d like it. As an introvert online chats feel ‘safer’ to me than in person, odd to say but true. Mostly I think it’s a good idea as we sit all over the globe and in different time zones, so an online space is a solution, where we can drop by when it suits our busy schedules.
  • For security and confidentiality this will sit behind the (small) paywall.
