Who is Christie Adams? A Yorkshire woman with 40 years of experience as a negotiator, manager, educator, analyst, researcher and mentor. Always moving forward, a single parent who studied for and gained a BA (Hons) in Literature whilst working full time. Now a married grandmother, author, independence thinker, rebel, determined to be a positive forward facing role model. An over 50 woman, keen to fight all forms of age discrimination and stereotyping. Overcoming redundancies, career changes, bullying, bereavement and pivots to realise that it’s possible not just to survive but to thrive. Bred to tell it how it is, to encourage, support and challenge you, always with kindness and straight talking. To hold you accountable and ensure you keep on track. Enabling you to live your best life. Who are you, and who will you become?

Australia One Month Backpack Itinerary

I plan to do Lake Garda in my old age, maybe I’ve read too many books but it seems that sort of place doesn’t it? Good enough for DH Lawrence is good enough for me.

Adelaide, Reconciliation Plaza – good to see

I was born in the 60’s so to see just how recently it was deemed necessary to take decisions about racism and societal injustice which I would have hoped was distant history was truly shocking

Hello from sunny Sydney and buzzing beautiful Bondi

They have good quality fresh drinking water taps all along walks to refill your water bottle. I will try not to buy another throw away bottle of water, I’ll refill. Well done Australia!

Book Review – Robert Crais – Hostage

It’s a good read for holidays, a page turner, but nothing unique. I guess though that predictable is a strength in itself. You know what you are picking up from the shelf, and Mr Crais knows his craft.

Book Review – The Audacity of Hope, Barack Obama

…highly informative, very well researched and again reinforces my view that Barack seems like a decent bloke.

Book Review – Dreams From My Father, Barack Obama

…someone who feels strongly however has the wisdom to count to ten, or maybe twenty, before responding. I think Mr Obama would be quite scary as an angry man.

Book Review – Robert Crais, Demolition Angel

So Robert, I liked the reference to other characters from your other work, it involves the reader. I’ll even forgive you the love interest, you did it well and it didn’t dominate a great plot. Well done, great read. Highly recommended!

Book Review -Time and Time again by Ben Elton

I had not read one of Ben Elton’s books, any regulars to my blog will now start to grasp a theme with my reading this year, I am trying new things, pushing boundaries ever so slightly. This book came highly recommended, so I dug in.

Book Review – March was made of yarn

I think we in the West were, for once, protected from the horror to some extent by the media and Japan’s capable independence in handling the tragedy. This book brings it full force into your consciousness.

Book Review – Val McDermid, Forensics: The Anatomy of Crime,

Anyone who has watched CSI, anyone who has read a thriller, anyone who has watched a court case unfold in the news, in fact anyone, should read this book.
